Research partnership

  • This multi-year collaboration between The Inspired Community Project (TICP) and New York University’s Institute of Human Development and Social Change (NYU IHDSC) focused on the Family Advocacy Coaching Support (FACS) initiative. This partnership aims to jointly explore and enhance family engagement, advocacy, and self-determination through research, program development, and knowledge-sharing. It centers around families of young children participating in TICP’s programs and builds on shared values of equity, data-informed support, and community empowerment.

  • The partnership focuses on four interrelated goals:

    1. Original Research – Conducting joint studies on family advocacy outcomes, with findings shared through publications and policy briefs.

    2. Data Utilization – Strengthening TICP’s data systems to improve insights and impact, with potential collaboration with external research institutions like SPARK at Yale.

    3. Best Practices Development – Codifying and enhancing program strategies to improve outcomes and inform training and staff development.

    4. Shared Knowledge Creation – Supporting community learning and equipping families and youth with tools to thrive socially, academically, and personally.

Additionally, both parties agree to shared intellectual property principles, authorship transparency, and ethical compliance, including FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.

    • TICP and NYU will continue meeting quarterly, using a collaborative decision-making process to advance the partnership’s goals.

    • Both teams will identify opportunities for joint funding, publication, and program evaluation.

    • Any collaborative projects will be further defined through separate, specific Collaboration Agreements.

    • The MOU is valid through January 2026, with automatic yearly renewals unless either party opts out with 30 days' notice.
